So behind

Do you ever feel like you are running in circles and just can't catch up?

I do.

I am feeling that way now.

Laundry
piling up, projects to finish before family visits, closets to organize and sort through, dust bunnies to vacuum, floors to clean,

superheroes to tend to,

a ROLLING baby to keep track of...
(yep that is right, Isaac is mobile. I guess the
prediction that he is bigger and may do things slower can be thrown out the window),

workouts to squeeze in, and sleep to be had.

Life is happening.

I need time to stand still for just a few days so I can catch up!

Well, since that won't be happening anytime soon, this post is going to have to do.

I have so many things to catch up on.

A Fabulous Father's Day celebrated at the lake.

A wonderful Birthday celebration .

So hopefully I will grab a few moments to catch up on documenting our lives.

Perhaps a few more moments of sleep would be nice! Huh Isaac?

I guess you will just have to wait in suspense until then.

P.S. I didn't get the necklace from lisa leonard that I was hoping for, but I did get some fantabulous gifts for my birthday!

Including some sweet sandals (thanks Laura), beautiful flowers, an air freshener I wanted, and a cute new outfit (thanks mom & dad) , a date with my sister (thanks Nikki), a fun hanging plant (thanks boys), and a rocking/reclining chair from Richard!!!!!!!

I even got a gift from Michael (Elijah's imaginary friend). It was a cake with a dancing lady on it. Curious huh? We had DQ cake for dessert of course and I had lunch at Paradiso for my free meal!

Thanks to facebook, text messaging, and a few phone calls I felt pretty special all day! Thank you for the well wishes. I pray for another year filled with lessons learned, love, family and friends.

PPS Hopefully the format of this post didn't make you too crazy. It is a little how I feel lately, backwards.

PPPS I am hoping to also sneak in time to give my blog a makeover...hopefully before summer is over!

Photographs

Isn't it funny how much emotion a photograph can hold?

Or the story it can tell...
or the memory it evokes.

Like the first time a child goes swimming.

I LOVE taking pictures and documenting events in our lives.

Even though it is one of my husband's least favorite things to do (take pictures and be in pictures) He happens to be pretty stinkin' good at it.

These photographs were taken with his phone.

Such fun memories...

to be remembered for years to come.

So we can remember the ordinary moments of our day

that make us smile and help us appreciate the gifts we have been given.

Life together, love forever, and 3 little boys.

Mystery Solved

I love playing detective.

Lately we have had a mystery to solve in our house.

The mystery of the disappearing toilet paper...

----------------

It had been going on for a few weeks and I wasn't too concerned, but quite curious.

Mostly because our boys have always had a certain...uh...appreciation for toilet paper.

Here is one of Jonah's first encounters with the soft, white stuff...

He was kind enough to share his love for the necessary product with his little brother
Unfortunately, Richard and I discovered the toilet paper unraveling crew a little too late.

Fortunately, we were able to salvage most of the 24 rolls that had been used as streamers in our basement in Iowa.

What's not to love about it? Really?

----------------

Jonah has been wiping himself after he uses the bathroom for quite some time now.

It is fabulous to have one less butt to wipe!

It is also fun to see him being even more independent.

Without sharing too many details with you, I have caught him on more than one occasion with excessive amounts of toilet paper in the toilet after he had a successful visit to the John.

Funny how I didn't consider this when our toilet became non-functioning the other day.

It just wouldn't flush.

I waited for Richard to get home after I unsuccessfully plunged away.

After Richard didn't have any more luck than myself, we threw in the towel and called a plumber.

$70 later the plumber was able to solve the mystery for us.

After a few grueling hours of using an industrial snake, he discovered a GIANT wad of toilet paper & baby wipes!

Needless to say we have had many discussions about how less is more with our little men.

Now that this mystery is solved, Sherlock Becky is moving on to other pressing mysteries like why doesn't the laundry just wash itself, or how do two little boys make such BIG messes?

Someone

Someone wants to be a big boy like his brothers
and prefers being upright or held to laying down.

Someone is getting closer to rolling over, but his momma is trying to stop him!

Someone is starting to giggle and make bird like noises when he is excited!

Someone is still keeping us smiling and continues to be the happiest baby ever!

Someone, named Isaac, is a good excuse for a post when I am way behind!

I have been taking a timeout from blogging to spend some time with my boys.

Hoping to catch up soon! Praying you are enjoying your days!

To my Love

To my Love,

7 years ago, June 6th, we said I do

and to say it's been perfect wouldn't be true.

We've had laughter, tears, heartache, and joy

lived in 2 different states and blessed with 3 little boys.

There are many words to describe our 7 years filled with love

it may surprise you to discover I can not pick just one.

Sacrifice, commitment, endurance and strength

trust, selfless love and discussions at length.

Camping, crashing weddings, trips to the lake or the zoo

date nights together, backyard bonfires, and game night too.

We've celebrated victories, defeats, birthdays and deaths

but we've done it together and haven't looked back.

7 years filled with memories that I'll help you remember

as we continue walking down this road together.

My love for you grows stronger each day

and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I pray we continue strengthening each other forever

as we persevere on our marriage endeavor.

Thank you for loving me even when it hasn't been easy

or when I write you Anniversary poems that are cheesy.

You are my best friend, companion, and love of my life

I thank God everyday for making me your wife.

Happy Anniversary Richard

Just like Dad

Spending a beautiful summer day helping daddy fix things

is right up this 3 year old's alley.

Nothing makes a little boy feel better than being just like dad and helping him.

Especially when your tools are brightly colored and made of plastic!

He spent the next few days beaming with pride as I commented on all the projects he "helped" dad do. It was sure fun to see him so proud and so excited to be just like dad.
